Share with us what you LOVE about your festival location?
Taos Ski Valley is nestled among the highest peaks of New Mexico’s Sangre de Cristo mountains – the beauty of the area is equal only to its history and deep cultural roots. It’s a far cry from the “mountain cities” that many ski resorts have become in the summer and will truly provide our guests an unforgettable, intimate experience.

The theme of our issue this year is JOY, how do yoga festivals inspire JOY?
The Taos Mountain Yoga Festival is designed to be a joyful, inclusive, communal event. Personally, for me, creating something that draws people from a variety of walks of life together for a common interest, and seeing them immerse themselves in a place close to my heart brings a lot of joy.

Overall, I think the positive intentions of seeking wellness, connection, and community inherently radiate joy; and when people gather together with the mission of finding those things, the joy is palpable.

Share with us what you LOVE about your festival location?
Leland Lake is a truly magical place, the desire of the owner, a fellow yogini, was to one day have a Yoga festival on her property and everything has been so thoughtfully placed with this in mind. It truly is a place to reconvene with nature.

The theme of our issue this year is JOY, how do yoga festivals inspire JOY?
I have found that for me, most of my Joy comes from opportunities to serve others. My method of service in everything I do is heart centered. I get people to feel their own hearts and listen to that voice within that just wants to play and see life as a big adventure.

It is so easy in the business of life to move away from what is really important. Life entices us, sucking us into the stories and dramas of the ego and we find ourselves moving further and further away from our joy. Many are walking through life listless and uninspired. My life purpose and goal behind all that I do is to reinspire passion and reignite the spark that glimmer of hope that allows for growth, expansion and transformation.

From inception until now the wild ride of creating a festival has expanded every part of me giving me a larger capacity to hold an even greater amount of JOY!
Although I hold the title of creator of LiTT, I think in actuality LiTT has created me. Throughout the process of visioning and creating LiTT I feel like I have been reenvisioned. I have two children and when each was born I felt like a part of my heart that I didn’t know I had lit up. LiTT is my third child and my heart has grown exponentially since its inception. And I can’t wait for those that experience it to feel that love!

My whole life I have gathered people together under the umbrella of LOVE whether it be retreats, workshops, classes or life coaching. But, now more than ever it feels like I needed to grow the stage. The world as we know it is dissolving. Old belief systems are being dismantled and the world, like me, is being re envisioned. We need more ways to come together under the common desire for community, connection, healing and LOVE.

LiTT isn’t just a place to listen to some amazing music or do some yoga, it is an opportunity to unplug from the chaos of life and plug into nature. It is an answer to the calling of the soul which requires we slow down, nourish, play, move and connect on the level of the heart. LiTT calls us to HEAL-EXPAND-LOVE-REMEMBER-BECOME

What inspired you to create a festival?

I love my home state of Connecticut and wanted to create an event where we all gather for a weekend and we can create a sense of community with one another while having the ability to meet local teachers as well as try different classes we may have not known existed right in our backyard!

What makes your festival unique?

This festival is unique because it blends yoga and movement classes with wellness modalities as well as forms of spirituality.  It is the first festival that really encapsulates a well rounded healing and transformational experience. There is truly something for everyone here, even if you are not into yoga or movement based classes.

What offering/presenter or class are you most excited about for this year’s event?

I am so excited for every presenter, it’s so hard to choose!  Just to highlight a few of our AMAZING offerings at Transcend Fest would be Kundalini yoga, Tantra, Shamanic healing, puppy yoga, and herbalism.  There are 90 offerings throughout the weekend, you will have to check out the website to see the full line-up!

ALLISON EATON
“Joy is an inner radiance that shines outwardly when we are aligned with our truth.”

SHIVA REA
“Embodying collective joy is a cellular power that we have been accessing as long as we have gathered around the fire – the birthplace of the world’s first yoga practices. Now the science of collective gathering and the beneficial effects of movement, chanting, and meditation are catching up to what we have none forever – we long to be together to generate the power of collective joy particularly in challenging times. Bhakti Fest is such a transformative gathering for accessing this love-joy power within us all.”

JAI DEV
A festival where we come together to tap into the unifying life-force is a powerful catalyst to experience genuine joy. Real joy, when cultivated, can stand the test of time. It carries us through life’s ups and downs. A festival like this connects us into the great mystery, and thus to each other. From there, a great joy emerges naturally.

GOVIND DAS
“Yoga festivals inspire great joy…even beyond joy…these gatherings inspire bliss!

Why?!

Because joining together with hundreds or even thousands of other like minded souls, all singing, practicing, dancing, and meditating together creates an undeniable and palpable field of the consciousness of unity and love, where the heart naturally opens and the nectar of joy and bliss arises. Don’t take my words for it, go experience it yourself!”

NINA RAO
“Yoga festivals are the current day non-traditional version of a sacred ‘mela’, with the goal to start or deepen one’s individual spiritual life path by coming together and receiving the support of like-minded community in practice. There is tremendous joy in the sharing of the practices that will ultimately lead to the lasting Joy of Real Happiness which is said to be our true nature.”

MARIEME
“Joy for me means balance, and I get balance by being as open and as understanding as possible. When I understand what’s going on and the ways of the universe I’m able to process everything better and life is just pure bliss and full of surrender.”

RADHIKA DAS
“Yoga Festivals give us a chance to gather with truth seekers. The collective inspires an expansion of consciousness.”

SAEED YOUNAN
“Joy to me is seeing the joy on other people’s faces while dancing and allowing me to take them on a musical journey”

NATALIE VALLE
“Joy for me is about enjoying the moment, finding happiness in simple things, and sharing those moments with others. It’s about letting go and letting happiness take over, whether I’m laughing, dancing, talking, or just being in nature. Yoga festivals wrap all of this together, making them a perfect source of joy for me.”

 AJEET
“For me it is always important to take intentional time from our busy lives to reconnect and give space to our inner worlds. Yoga is a beautiful and nourishing practice for body and heart, so to take time away from the needs of daily life to let this practice carry you inward is an incredible gift and can give so much. These spaces nourish and inspire so we can go back to our lives with fresh energy and more in tune with the realm within.”

ARJUN BRUGGEMAN
“The feeling of joy for me arises when the grace of surrender happens. From acceptance of what is comes the feeling of peace and then the joyful blooming of life itself.”
