Wildwood Park for the Arts is the most perfect and beautiful backdrop for the Little Rock Yoga Festival. Wildwood Park is home to Little Rock’s unique botanical gardens and the Lucy Lockett Cabe Festival Theatre. A center for the arts located in west Little Rock’s Chenal Valley, Wildwood’s 105-acre park, gardens and 625-seat theater complex make Wildwood one of our state’s most valuable natural and cultural resources. We strive to be the foremost partner for the state’s wellness community so we can create safe and welcoming spaces for Arkansans to UNITE, GROW & EXPLORE.

The theme of our issue this year is JOY, how do yoga festivals inspire JOY?

FESTIVALS

BIG BEAR YOGA FESTIVAL
Looking for something to do this April? We are thrilled yoga festivals are back and can’t wait to check out all the amazing events taking place around the world. This week we had a chance to connect with Ingrid Saddler-Walker, Founder of the Bull City Yoga Festival in Durham, North Carolina who we are thrilled to partner with! You will be able to pick up complimentary copies of our magazine at this festival!

What makes this year’s festival unique?
The Bull City Yoga Festival is a unique event that attracts over 100 passionate yogis from across the region. Our mission is to ignite profound community connections and facilitate transformative and engaging experiences through a vibrant festival and collaborative partnerships with nonprofit organizations that serve our community. Our vision is to create a thriving community in the Durham area where individuals of all ages and backgrounds feel a deep sense of belonging and empowerment through accessible yoga and wellness practices.

Our festival offers a diverse range of activities, including:

  • Local and regional yoga instructors leading classes for all levels and styles
  • Inspiring workshops and discussions on yoga philosophy, meditation, and wellness
  • A vibrant vendor village featuring yoga apparel, healthy food, and artisan crafts
  • Opportunities for connection and community among like-minded individuals

This years festival class lineup is as follows:  Sound Bath Meditation, Yoga for Reproductive Health, Victorious Vinyasa, Hip Hop Yoga, Unlock the Pose, Yoga Bliss, Sattva Kriya Journey, The Art of Kemetic Yoga, Animal Flow Yoga, Fluid Flow with Juicy Yogi, Five Elements Flow: Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Space. This year we will be featuring Dorian, a NeoSoul Singer with special guest yoga teacher June Elizabeth Williams.

There will also be circle/workshops that will be offered such as: Energy Alignment, Deep Release: Yin Yoga, Chakra Meditation, Moving to Action: Yoga for Climate, Crystal Clear Dreams: Mastering the 5 Essential Steps to Manifestation.

Share with us what you LOVE about your festival location?
The Bull City Yoga Festival will be located on the beautiful, wide open farm of the ZincHouse Winery and Brewery. It sits on 87 acres of land and vineyards, long hiking trails, a large fountain/pool and multiple buildings. The participants can expect a beautiful vineyard with a calm and serene atmosphere.

The theme of our issue this year is JOY, how do yoga festivals inspire JOY?
Yoga festivals bring me “JOY.”  The Bull City Yoga Festival was created in 2018. I created the festival because I wanted to bring together the diverse yoga instructors in our community and the different offerings that they would bring to the festival. I enjoy seeing the smiles on people’s faces, their laughter, hearing their responses as they attend each of the yoga classes. I feel the “JOY” as the participants shop at the vendor booths.  It is such a beautiful atmosphere with the peace and blessings that are shared among everyone that attends the festival.

Our community benefits from a day long yoga festival experience that offers yoga classes, holistic workshops, natural product vendors: natural soaps, body oils, sage wands and candles, natural clothing, self-help books, beaded jewelry, and food trucks for all different appetites (including vegan).

FESTIVALS

BIG BEAR YOGA FESTIVAL
Looking for something to do this month? We are thrilled yoga festivals are back and can’t wait to check out all the amazing events taking place around the world. This week we had a chance to connect with the team behind the brand new MN Yoga Fest launching May 11th!

Joclyn Rainville Kilpatrick: Owner of Willow Soul Yoga (Otsego, St. Michael, MN.)
Amy Miller-Strand: Owner of Rising Phoenix Yoga and Bodywork ( Buffalo, MN.)
Amber Perry: Owner of Sweet Spirit Yoga and Retreats ( Rogers, MN. )
Jennie Ruth : Owner of Jennie Ruth Music and Yoga (Otsego, Foley, MN.)

What makes this year’s festival unique?
This is our very first year of MN YOGA FEST, the idea came about to help bring other Yogis together to gather as a community and share the love of Yoga. We are offering a variety of yoga classes and workshops that include teachers from Minnesota that bring all people together to practice and learn more about Yoga and its vast teachings. There will be a Sound Spa Mediation area to invite relaxation and rejuvenation, small business vendors and healthy food!

Share with us what you LOVE about your festival location?
MN YOGA FEST will be held at the Howling Moon Weddings and Event Center in Buffalo, MN. Howling Moon offers a one-of-a-kind event space that provides a beautiful backdrop of rolling green hills leading to a vineyard and rustic barn appeal. Located in a rural setting which invites a peaceful ambiance surrounded by nature.

The theme of our issue this year is JOY, how do yoga festivals inspire JOY?
Community Connection: Yoga festivals bring together like-minded individuals passionate about yoga and holistic wellness. The sense of belonging and feeling connected fosters joy as people share their experiences, practice together, and celebrate a common interest.

Spiritual Growth: Yoga festivals feature classes and workshops,  led by teachers which can inspire personal growth, self-discovery and a deeper connection to oneself and others, which can be profoundly joyous experiences.

Celebration of movement: Yoga festivals celebrate movement, mindfulness, and the body’s capabilities. Engaging in yoga practices, dance, and other physical activities can evoke feelings of liberation, vitality, and joy as participants explore new ways of moving and being in their bodies.

Nature: Yoga festivals that are held outside surrounded by nature and being immersed by natural beauty can uplift the spirit and bring joy!
