Looking for something to do this July? We are thrilled yoga festivals are back and can’t wait to check out all the amazing events taking place around the world. This week we had a chance to connect with Samantha Grout, Founder of The OM Festival who we are thrilled to partner with! Complimentary copies of our magazine will be available at this festival!

What are you most excited about for this year’s festival

This is the 3rd annual Om Festival we are headed into this July. First, I would say that we are thrilled to have so many “Omies” returning, both attendees and musicians/teachers. Every single soul in attendance adds something special to the collective energy and we have some powerfully amazing Omies. Once you attend your first Om you are an Om’ie for life.

This year promises to be full of growth, learning, expansion, and fun. We have some wonderful new additions to our schedule such as SUP yoga, float sound healing sessions on the pond, paint n sip workshops as well as several super fun playshops. We are all about promoting a vibe of love, acceptance, creativity, and transformation for all attendees.

What is unique/special about the festival location?

The Om Festival is set in idyllic little Arlington, Vermont. This is the hometown of the main founder of Om, Samantha Grout, as well as our Marketing Guru/Goddess of Creation, Sarah Barendse-Elrod. They chose to hold it in and on the picturesque and majestic grounds of the historic West Mountain Inn set on 175 acres above the famous Battenkill River, owned by Amie Emmons, also an Om founder.

Arlington was the original capital of Vermont. Though the original state tree was taken down in a windstorm in 1979, the replanted replacement still stands, half a mile down the road from the festival site. It was planted not only by Richard Snelling, Governor at the time, but also by Sarah Barendse-Elrod, (age 4 at the time) who was helping her dad, Pierre Barendse, a local landscaper and happens to be right below Sam’s house and the Vermont Leadership Center on Red Mountain.  Make sure to set some time aside to find this tree!

Arlington is a hidden gem in the green mountain state. Quaint, serene, and beautiful. Green grass, wild flowers, roaring rivers, dirt roads, and summer sunshine… This area of Vermont sits atop of quartz, amethysts, and other stone formations that add wonderful energy to the area. Visitors often remark as to how relaxed they feel commenting that they “finally feel like they can breathe!”

Is there a theme for this year’s festival?

Embrace Your Awakening. The Golden age is being ushered in and so many are waking up to the truth of who and what they are. Om is the place this July  to celebrate and join with others on those high vibe levels for great food, incredible music, mind expanding classes, and a whole lot of fun away from it all playtime.

The theme of our issue is “celebrating age.” If you could share a message or piece of advice with your younger self, what would it be?

I think our biggest pieces of advice would be:

  1. Learn to listen and really tune into your inner knowing. It is your GPS guidance system!
  2. Don’t be in such a rush. Enjoy every moment and fully appreciate all of the people in your world. Time goes by fast, and you never know how long you get to keep those you love. Take the time to celebrate and really enjoy your life.

That is why we are so excited about Om as it is truly a transformative retreat experience for your sacred soul where you can escape the stress of daily life and the green screen and be in the mountains.

NATURE ALWAYS INSPIRES

NATURE ALWAYS INSPIRES

FESTIVALS

BIG BEAR YOGA FESTIVAL
Nature is a gift connecting us to the divine, and divine it was at Kula Yoga Fest in North Conway, NH the weekend of Sept 6-8.  Kula Yoga Fest was a sweet, sensorial experience filled with mindful movement, thought-provoking, soul-enriching moments, and deep connection with nature.

Each yoga festival the Yoga Love Magazine team attends has its own magic. At Kula Yoga Fest, the standout gem is how nature always inspires. Some standout moments from our weekend in the mountains of New Hampshire:

GANESHA 🐘

Ananda Das led a Ganesha-inspired Sattva Yoga journey celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi, the birth of the deity Ganesha, remover of all obstacles. Ananda’s creative flow honored Ganesha through visualization and movement, conveying the powerful messages of Karma and Kriya. We were inspired to practice letting go of what no longer serves us, moving out of the hamster wheel of routine to evolutionary action, creating space for meaningful, positive change.

SUP YOGA 💦

Yoga teaches us that we are all connected. I had the pleasure of floating along with Erika and Domenic, founders of  Rooted Rose Recreation , who led us through SUP Yoga, a paddleboard yoga experience in the pond. The practice emphasized gratitude to the land, the trees, the sky, and the sounds of Earth around us. Mindfulness on water provides a sense of tranquility and a strong connection to this element. We are 80% water—let it flow.

MINDFUL WALKS 🌲

Have you ever walked quietly into a forest and just listened, observed, and activated your senses? This was the experience with Nature & Mindfulness Wellness Walk led by Kaitlin from Taking Root Education. It was a moment to practice being present, savoring every droplet on the leaves, the colors of mushrooms on the moist ground, and the soft earth that cushioned each step. From the light shower sounds to the peeking sun rays and the curious thoughts about our surroundings, nature has a way of embracing and replenishing us. This was a reset for my nervous system.

UNIVERSAL SOUNDS 🎶

Travel to the sweet space between conscious and subconscious—that’s the beauty of vibrational sound. Ashera took us on a healing journey. At the beginning of the session, I had a vision of falling off a cliff but quickly returned to my body. What is my subconscious trying to tell me? Sound baths offer an opportunity to surrender and allow the mind to drift to a deeper space, connecting us to our inner truth.

BIG BEAR YOGA FESTIVAL

Looking for something to do this March? We are thrilled yoga festivals are back and can’t wait to check out all the amazing events taking place around the world. This week we had a chance to connect with Heather Sanders, Founder & Producer and Lisette Cheresson, Director of Communications of Sedona Yoga Festival taking place in Sedona, AZ who we are thrilled to partner with! You will be able to get complimentary copies of our magazine at this festival!

What makes this year’s festival unique?
HEATHER: After years of seeing people network with one another organically and go on to do amazing things together, we are putting some intentions behind growing that network. As such, we’re actively exploring what purpose-driven collaboration looks like, in what is being shown to us as a new way of doing things. We will have more spaciousness in the schedule and more intentional time all together to spark these relationships, as well as fun activities that support people creating with one another to collaborate both at the festival and beyond. You will find our presenter roster here

Share with us what you LOVE about your festival location?
HEATHER: Our venue, the Hilton Sedona Resort at Bell Rock, is located in an area of Sedona that has very grounded and healing energy. With everything being walkable from the venue, we expect it to be very relaxed. There are many trails easily accessed near our venue, so folks can take time between classes to really find themselves on the land. There couldn’t be a better place for us to celebrate all together now and really connect with this sacred land.

In that vein, SYF is unique in that it takes place in one of Earth’s well-known power points. Sedona has an energy of transformation and amplification. When we practice together in large numbers in this environment — with shared intention and an attitude of gratitude and love — it resonates and ripples out to the world at large.

The theme of our issue this year is JOY, how do yoga festivals inspire JOY?
LISETTE: There’s a lightness of being that happens when we share in yoga and chant and celebration. It’s not just about coming together in community — though it’s that too — it’s the inspiration of possibility. When we come together in the shared goal of recognizing our interconnectedness, we break the barriers we set for ourselves. We’re able to step into our true, authentic, shared humanity and remind ourselves what is actually possible.

The joy comes from that reminder — the tapping back into what’s really important, and creating the connections we need to shift out of stagnancy and hopelessness and into our divine power once we leave the event.

Wildwood Park for the Arts is the most perfect and beautiful backdrop for the Little Rock Yoga Festival. Wildwood Park is home to Little Rock’s unique botanical gardens and the Lucy Lockett Cabe Festival Theatre. A center for the arts located in west Little Rock’s Chenal Valley, Wildwood’s 105-acre park, gardens and 625-seat theater complex make Wildwood one of our state’s most valuable natural and cultural resources. We strive to be the foremost partner for the state’s wellness community so we can create safe and welcoming spaces for Arkansans to UNITE, GROW & EXPLORE.

The theme of our issue this year is JOY, how do yoga festivals inspire JOY?

Share with us what you LOVE about your festival location?
The Bull City Yoga Festival will be located on the beautiful, wide open farm of the ZincHouse Winery and Brewery. It sits on 87 acres of land and vineyards, long hiking trails, a large fountain/pool and multiple buildings. The participants can expect a beautiful vineyard with a calm and serene atmosphere.

The theme of our issue this year is JOY, how do yoga festivals inspire JOY?
Yoga festivals bring me “JOY.”  The Bull City Yoga Festival was created in 2018. I created the festival because I wanted to bring together the diverse yoga instructors in our community and the different offerings that they would bring to the festival. I enjoy seeing the smiles on people’s faces, their laughter, hearing their responses as they attend each of the yoga classes. I feel the “JOY” as the participants shop at the vendor booths.  It is such a beautiful atmosphere with the peace and blessings that are shared among everyone that attends the festival.

Our community benefits from a day long yoga festival experience that offers yoga classes, holistic workshops, natural product vendors: natural soaps, body oils, sage wands and candles, natural clothing, self-help books, beaded jewelry, and food trucks for all different appetites (including vegan).
