Share with us what you LOVE about your festival location?
Telluride is simply the most spectacular mountain setting for a yoga festival you could ever ask for.  You feel nature everywhere and you are completely removed from the ordinary.  The crisp pure air, the majestic and awe inspiring mountains, the blue sky, and the quaint destination of both Telluride and Mountain Village make it an ideal destination.

The theme of our issue this year is JOY, how do yoga festivals inspire JOY?
The Telluride Yoga Festival is a reminder that in yoga, and in life, we have an opportunity to choose joy each and every day.  When you are surrounded by people who are in community with one another with the common desire to dive deeper into the principles of yoga with inspiring teachers, choosing joy becomes easy.

As the curator of the festival for over 10 years, it brings me great joy to see the transformations and the energetic shifts that transpire here each year.  I have truly seen lives changed as a result of the teachings and weekend connections that this festival holds space for.  It’s really special.

FESTIVALS

BIG BEAR YOGA FESTIVAL
Looking for something to do this July? We are thrilled yoga festivals are back and can’t wait to check out all the amazing events taking place around the world. This week we had a chance to connect with Krystal Denham, Creator and Director of Free State Yoga Festival taking place in Lawrence, KS who we are thrilled to partner with! You will be able to get complimentary copies of our magazine at this festival!

What makes this year’s festival unique?
The third annual Free State Yoga Festival offers a day of soul-nourishing, authentic connections through yoga and nature. Past attendees have described it as healing, the best day ever, an unexpected treasure, and a magical reset for the mind. Every student will be provided with an organic cotton yoga mat bag from the Free State Yoga Festival, along with a festival wellness guide and integration workbook. Additionally, they will receive a one-class pass to supporting studios.

The day is truly enchanting, and we carefully curated this year’s festival. We commence with “Call the Winds,” a serene ceremony harnessing Earth’s energy to commune with Chihowa spirits, blessing our festivities. The initial three hours were dedicated to communal activities before venturing into personalized healing ventures. Following the ceremony, we geared up for a 5K fun run, preceded by partner stretch sessions. After a 15-minute warm-up, we immersed ourselves in a day full of healing experiences. The 5K route, traversing the retreat center’s land and forest, allowed participants to run, skip, walk, cartwheel, and more, engaging with nature and their inner child. Laughter filled the air as students paused at the tribal yell station, some shouting affirmations like “I love myself!” – a testament to the pure joy and mindfulness cultivated throughout the day. Leanne leads the live music community yoga flow, infusing her diverse background experiences into her teachings. From storytelling to hands-on assistance, she intertwines ancient wisdom with modern-day practices, imbuing them with humor, humility, and grace. Her classes serve as gentle reminders of self-love, resilience, strength, and unity. The live music accompaniment features a blend of percussion and sound healing instruments, enhancing the practice’s depth.

Following the community session, we embark on five hours of personalized practice, offering 5 to 6 healing modalities for exploration. Thirty-minute breaks between sessions allow students to rejuvenate and access additional healing services for their mind, body, and soul through our health and wellness partners. Each session provides a space for interactive wellness, conversation, and opportunities like SUP Yoga and local healing practices. At 6:35 PM, we come together for a 20-minute dance party, integrating the day’s experiences into our beings, leading up to the festival giveaway drawing and closing ceremony featuring live music, sunset meditation, and breathwork.

Share with us what you LOVE about your festival location?
The retreat center is situated about 10 miles from Lawrence, Kansas, an eclectic town with a deep appreciation for yoga and healing practices. Having been rebuilt, it provides an ideal backdrop for a transformative day of healing and self-discovery. The Chihowa forest surrounding us offers a serene environment for outdoor yoga, meditation, and breathwork sessions.

The theme of our issue this year is JOY, how do yoga festivals inspire JOY?
Yoga festivals empower students to explore various yoga practices, along with other healing modalities, to find the teachers and community that deeply resonate with their soul.

Share with us what you LOVE about your festival location?

Our festival location in Lake Tahoe holds a special place in our hearts because it’s home but also, because of its serene beauty and natural splendor. Nestled amidst the breathtaking mountains and crystal-clear waters, Lake Tahoe provides a picturesque backdrop that truly enhances the yoga experience. Participants can expect to immerse themselves in the tranquility of nature while practicing yoga, fostering a deeper connection with themselves and the world around them. Additionally, Lake Tahoe offers a wealth of outdoor activities and opportunities for exploration, allowing attendees to extend their wellness journey beyond the yoga mat and into the great outdoors. We hope it inspires a sense of wanting to preserve and enhance sustainability in the region which is also why we are partnering with our friends at Clean Up the Lake so we can educate attendees on our impact not only in Tahoe but around the world.

The theme of our issue this year is JOY, how do yoga festivals inspire JOY?
As creators of the festival, we find immense joy in curating an immersive experience that uplifts and inspires our community. In a world where wellness can often seem distant and exclusive, Jess Broyles, owner of OMNI Tahoe and the driving force behind the festival, is breaking down barriers and challenging stereotypes with the 2nd annual OMNI Tahoe Yoga Festival. From the lively energy of group yoga sessions to the sense of camaraderie fostered through shared experiences, yoga festivals offer a unique space for individuals to connect, grow, and find joy in the present moment. Through yoga, music, and community, we believe that our festival can inspire joy in all who attend, fostering a sense of positivity, gratitude, and wellbeing that extends far beyond the event itself.

Taos Ski Valley is nestled among the highest peaks of New Mexico’s Sangre de Cristo mountains – the beauty of the area is equal only to its history and deep cultural roots. It’s a far cry from the “mountain cities” that many ski resorts have become in the summer and will truly provide our guests an unforgettable, intimate experience.

The theme of our issue this year is JOY, how do yoga festivals inspire JOY?
The Taos Mountain Yoga Festival is designed to be a joyful, inclusive, communal event. Personally, for me, creating something that draws people from a variety of walks of life together for a common interest, and seeing them immerse themselves in a place close to my heart brings a lot of joy.

Overall, I think the positive intentions of seeking wellness, connection, and community inherently radiate joy; and when people gather together with the mission of finding those things, the joy is palpable.

Leland Lake is a truly magical place, the desire of the owner, a fellow yogini, was to one day have a Yoga festival on her property and everything has been so thoughtfully placed with this in mind. It truly is a place to reconvene with nature.

The theme of our issue this year is JOY, how do yoga festivals inspire JOY?
I have found that for me, most of my Joy comes from opportunities to serve others. My method of service in everything I do is heart centered. I get people to feel their own hearts and listen to that voice within that just wants to play and see life as a big adventure.

It is so easy in the business of life to move away from what is really important. Life entices us, sucking us into the stories and dramas of the ego and we find ourselves moving further and further away from our joy. Many are walking through life listless and uninspired. My life purpose and goal behind all that I do is to reinspire passion and reignite the spark that glimmer of hope that allows for growth, expansion and transformation.

From inception until now the wild ride of creating a festival has expanded every part of me giving me a larger capacity to hold an even greater amount of JOY!
Although I hold the title of creator of LiTT, I think in actuality LiTT has created me. Throughout the process of visioning and creating LiTT I feel like I have been reenvisioned. I have two children and when each was born I felt like a part of my heart that I didn’t know I had lit up. LiTT is my third child and my heart has grown exponentially since its inception. And I can’t wait for those that experience it to feel that love!

My whole life I have gathered people together under the umbrella of LOVE whether it be retreats, workshops, classes or life coaching. But, now more than ever it feels like I needed to grow the stage. The world as we know it is dissolving. Old belief systems are being dismantled and the world, like me, is being re envisioned. We need more ways to come together under the common desire for community, connection, healing and LOVE.

LiTT isn’t just a place to listen to some amazing music or do some yoga, it is an opportunity to unplug from the chaos of life and plug into nature. It is an answer to the calling of the soul which requires we slow down, nourish, play, move and connect on the level of the heart. LiTT calls us to HEAL-EXPAND-LOVE-REMEMBER-BECOME
