WHO ARE WE
Stone Wave Yoga offers a nature-inspired space for everyone. Our slogan is “come as you are” and we truly welcome everyone. Stone Wave Yoga hosts a weekly schedule of yoga, fitness, and movement classes, and a rotating calendar of wellness, music, and artistic events for body, mind, and spirit. We offer classes for the whole family – Children, Prenatal, ‘Baby and Me,’ and adult classes from Ashtanga to Yin – for all levels from beginners to advanced. We aim to meet the varied needs of our students; offering hot yoga options at our Poughkeepsie location and in-house Yoga Therapy at our Gardiner location. Membership passes include access and benefits to both locations. Making the space a “warm and welcoming environment” for people of all ethnicities, abilities, and creeds has been a priority for founder, Liz Glover Wilson, since the beginning.

Our Gardiner location has two yoga studios and a large art studio, with stunning views of the Shawangunk Ridge. Located just 80 miles north of Manhattan and 4 miles from Mohonk Preserve’s visitor center. Our beautiful space is an ideal place to rent and/or customize your own retreat or event. Our Poughkeepsie location, is located in the Arlington Business District of Poughkeepsie – just steps from the beautiful Vassar College. Metro North stop for Poughkeepsie is just a 4 mile taxi ride from/to our studio. This beautiful space is peaceful and calm.
TEACHER TRAINING AND IMMERSION 2020
It’s time to bloom at Stone Wave Yoga: Immersion and Teacher Training Certificate Program. This program encourages a well-rounded approach to developing both your personal practice and your teaching skills. This course can be taken as an 8 weekend immersion or a 10 weekend 200 Hour Teacher Training certification course recognized by Yoga Alliance. The schedule is sensitively developed for those who have full lives. Located just 80 miles north of Manhattan, this certification provides the option to enjoy the peace of a country setting while learning. Local accommodations available.

As a studio, we strive to enrich the lives of our student and the community at large. Teaching yoga as the whole system of way of life on and off the mat. We pride ourselves in teaching from the heart in a safe and welcoming environment where diversity is real, and passion is lived. A studio, where you start out as strangers but become immediate family. A place where you can come and heal, learn and grow. We believe our studio is a place where ALL are welcome and yoga is made accessible. Conveniently located on the border of the Bronx and Yonkers, we are a true full service yoga studio and womb for healing that is open seven days a week. Our regular schedule offers 10+ different modalities and healing modalities from meditation, essential oils and sound therapy. We also offer in house yoga programming and health coaching. Stop on in! Nueva Alma ™ opened its doors in 2012, and the A.L.M.A Institute in 2016. Both visions were founded by owner, Erica Garcia. A yogi for over 30 years, Erica is also a certified holistic health coach, Usuii Reiki Level I/II certified, and a thriving doTERRA wellness leader always looking to add to mentor her growing team of yoga teachers and wellness advocates. All trainings are facilitated as a mentorship with her and offered twice a year (Jan – May and Sept – Dec). Most of the staff have been trained at the studio which offers a unique continued mentorship with your peers, yet allowing for freedom to grow as a teacher. Founder, Erica is an E-RYT and YCACEP who has studied with many master teachers, is a soon to be author and has been featured in the Setu Community blog, and several issues of Mantra and NY YOGA + LIFE magazine. Erica is one of NY/NJ’s rising Latina faces as a headlining presenter at yoga festivals such as Ahimsa Yoga and Music Festival and SOULFest NYC.

We are the home of the A.L.M.A Institute where Asana, Lifestyle, Meditation and Acceptance is the model. Our 200hr Yoga and Life teacher training course is completely interdisciplinary, and is a three month, part time schedule designed for the working adult. Tuition is affordable with payment plans and work-study scholarship to those that qualify. It is a direct mentorship with the Director, Erica Garcia and is woven with holistic health coaching for those also looking to deepen their practice and find healing and not teach.
