Born and raised in Detroit, MI Charity Tyus, (yoga teacher & wellness coach) started her yoga journey 14 years ago while pregnant with her second child. Through the practice of yoga she gained an awareness of mindful action and developed the tools to find peace amongst chaos on and off the mat. Understanding the benefit of this knowledge led to the creation of Hustle and Yoga Flow, which concentrates on mindful movement through yoga, meditation and bodywork for those that are always on the go with an emphasis on community. This practice has incorporated wellness programs for professional fighters, student athletes, seniors, emergency responders, children and more. Although based in Joshua Tree, she can be found teaching workshops throughout the country.

I came into Yoga seeking a physical practice but shortly realized that it was much more to it. I realized that this is a practice that can better improve the comprehension of my mental and physical self. With this realization, I dedicated my practice not to just myself but others in my community. Jen SanMiguel teaches vinyasa flow & yin classes with an emphasis on creative sequencing and alignment. She strives to create an atmosphere that is welcoming and supportive to all ages, body types, and abilities, that is conducive to your exploration of your practice, to uncover/discover/recover your truest self. She doesn’t want to change you- she wants to help you become more completely who you already are. A student once described her class as the “perfect mix of zen and hilarity”- a compliment she will treasure forever.

Jen completed her 200 hour and 300 hour advanced teaching certifications at LL Studio (formerly Laughing Lotus Yoga Center), NYC. She has additional training in yin, restorative, trauma-informed yoga and Katonah yoga. She is a Queens native, a mythology and astrology nerd, and a cat lady.

Catherine Hamilton, Ph.D. EYRT 200
Catherine has been practicing yoga for more than forty years. She received her 200-hour training certification at Honest Yoga (Dharma style) in 2015 and has studied under Tao Porchon-Lynch.

She is currently enrolled in a 500-hour training with the Westchester Academy of Yoga (WAY) under Renee Diamond (the “Tao” Way.)  Catherine teaches at SanghaStudio (sanghastudio.org) in Burlington, Vermont, and volunteers at community-based yoga sessions.  Catherine’s chair yoga sequences can be found on her YouTube station Chair Yoga Love and Dianne Bondy’s YogaForEveryone.tv.

Her energizing flow sequences build core strength, stability, and greater flexibility. Her classes are designed to create healthy, joyful experiences and a blissful balance between ease and effort. Catherine conducts YACEP teacher training programs in chair yoga. She integrates “mudras” or “hand yoga” into her classes to promote healing and transformation.

Catherine spins vinyl records for community organizations under the name DJ Love Doctor.

Outside of the yoga studio, Catherine is a wife, mother, public health professor, and advocate for a better consumer experience in health care.
